Project: Digital English Language Program for Young Learners
Objective: To design and launch a suite of three engaging, age-appropriate online English courses for Young Learners. The program was architected to build foundational language skills through a structured, interactive, and visually stimulating digital environment that maintains the attention and motivation of a young audience.
My Role: Lead Instructional Designer & Curriculum Specialist
I owned the end-to-end development of this digital language program, from initial concept and pedagogical structuring to the creation of all interactive materials and assessments within a collaborative cloud-based platform.
Key Contributions & Process:
Program Architecture & Scaffolded Learning:
Architected a comprehensive learning journey by systematically dividing the curriculum across three distinct courses, comprising 15 sequenced segments in total. This scaffolded approach ensured a logical progression from simple vocabulary and phrases to more complex conversational skills.
Child-Centered Instructional Design:
Developed meticulous storyboards and design documents that prioritized pedagogical strategies effective for young learners, including gamification, visual storytelling, and short, dynamic activity cycles to maximize engagement and retention.
E-Learning Development & Platform Strategy:
Leveraged Google Drive as a centralized, agile development hub to orchestrate the design and storage of all e-learning components. This included creating interactive slide decks, digital worksheets, and multimedia assets, facilitating a seamless and organized content creation process.
Engagement & Formative Assessment:
Formulated a continuous assessment strategy using tailored "exit queries" and quick-check activities at the end of each segment. These low-stakes, interactive assessments were specifically designed for young learners to gauge comprehension in real-time and reinforce learning before moving forward.
